About

When schools began to close to in-person learning in March of 2020, experienced online school families came together to support our fellow parents.

We understood the transition to virtual learning would be difficult for traditional school systems and their families. We wanted to share our expertise with families as they navigated a new way of learning with their children.

With online learning integral to a 21st Century education, more than 7,000 parents, educators, and advocates have joined our community to find support and success within the ever-changing landscape of education.

In collaboration with each other, we have provided thousands of resources to parents and educators and offered one-on-one guidance through our mentorship program.  We have hosted more than 100 episodes of our Facebook Live show, The Parent Exchange, covering education and parenting topics important to families.

We’re on a mission to help students and their families find success in the online learning environment and through Parent Support for Online Learning play a pivotal role in the re-imagination of education to serve all students.

Tillie Elvrum was a godsend for my children when they were struggling in an unsupportive academic environment. She patiently and thoroughly explained myriad educational options, provided exhaustive resources, and connected us to online educators committed to providing a learning environment that met my children’s needs both academically and emotionally. We would have been lost with her! No one knows more than Tillie about all the options available to students and families, and no one is more dedicated to supporting students and families in their educational journey no matter what path they pursue. When COVID closed in-person schooling, my children were already thriving in their online school environment. Fortunately, they didn’t lose any instruction time. PSOL has been a great place to learn from other parents and support those exploring and starting out with online learning for their students. I’m thankful Tillie created such a wonderful and much-needed community.
